Could You Tell Me a Little Bit More about Your Company?

Advanced Adjusting LTD was formed in 2005 when a group of investors completed a series of meetings designed to expand their long-term success in underwriting and servicing of National crop insurance. The investors saw the need and opportunity for a property and casualty adjusting company that could supply skilled adjusters supported by cutting-edge technology existing in their Amarillo, Dallas and Kansas City offices. With 16 sequential years of success in the industry, the investors and principles already had in place the vehicle of success necessary to expand into the burgeoning property and casualty insurance adjusting market.  With the acquisition of key personnel, experts in the P&C field, the company was prepared to launch its newest operation. Our company handles daily and catastrophe property and liability claims. We are experienced with daily claims hurricanes, floods, ice storms, hail storms, wind storms, tornados, fires, ect. Advanced Adjusting also provides top-of-the line adjuster training in our “Practical Adjuster Training” course and “Xactimate” courses.

What are the benefits of Being an Advanced Adjuster?

We understand the frustrations adjusters can encounter. Many of our executives have spent years as insurance adjusters. Some of your past frustrations might include, poor fee schedules, insufficient information provided to work the claim, delayed payments, constant changes in report formatting, guidance not available on ambiguous issues, difficult claims processing software, expensive software, unclear deployment procedures, lack of available claims, or lack of integrity.

Advanced Adjusting strives to alleviate as many of these frustrations as possible by offering:

·         Competitive fee schedules: Our adjuster receive 65% of the fee schedule the carrier is paying to us. The fee schedule varies from carrier to carrier, but all fee schedules that our company agrees to are very competitive.

·         Opportunities for increases in fee schedule percentage: We’re currently working to get a program approved that will increase our adjuster’s fee schedule percentage by two percent with each successive storm up to 75% of the fee schedule.

·         Prompt payment via ACH transfers: Currently we pay our adjusters within 48 hours of when we receive payment. It’s our goal to ultimately guarantee payment within 30 days of completion.

·         Clear, pre-arranged claims handling protocols: We don’t go to work for a carrier blind. Before we work the first claim, the carrier hashes out an extensive “Claims Handling Protocol” that allows us, and you, to know exactly what is expected.

·         Carrier specific certifications: We don’t expect you to know all of the protocols that we have arranged with the carrier. Upon issuing of claims you will be equipped with all the information you need to get the job done.

·         Adjusting software discounts: We are currently working with Xactimate to be able to provide our adjusters with significant subscription discounts. As our operation expands we plan to make arrangements with other software companies as needed.

·         Availability of guidance regarding ambiguities: If you’re lost regarding how to handle a difficult issue while working a claim, you’ll have a direct line to help. During a CAT you’ll be working under a Team Leader and a Storm Manager who will be available for your assistance.

·         First hand contracts with reputable carriers: We’re in the process of developing long term relationships with carriers in Florida, Texas, Louisiana, New England, and all across the South. The dailies flow regularly and when the storm hits, you’ll have first tier work with us.

·         Customized Claim Adjustment Tracking System (CATS): Our tested system may be the easiest and most efficient claim tracking system you’ve ever used. We’re certain you’ll be pleased.

·         Honesty and Integrity in all of our relationships: We pride ourselves in doing the ethical thing, even when it is to our detriment. The most important thing to our company is our upstanding relationship with the people we encounter.

How Do You Use My Profile Update?

Our claim to the carriers is that, “We have the very best adjusters.” A large part of delivering on that promise is assigning specialized claims to adjusters who are experts in the given field. If Advanced Adjusting has a commercial fire claim, we’re going to assign that claim to the adjuster in the area with the most commercial fire experience. The profile updates allow us to scan our database not just for adjusters in the area, but more specifically for experienced commercial fire adjusters in the area. When you update your profile you’re not only informing us of your experience, you’re also helping yourself by increasing your chances of being assigned claims in your area of expertise. What other company can offer that?

What are You Looking for in a Resume?

The main thing we’d like to see in your resume is your work experience related to insurance adjusting. We’d like to know which positions you’ve held in insurance related industries, and a brief description of the work you managed in each. We’d like to know which estimating software you are familiar with and how many claims you’ve written using each. We’d like to know which companies you’ve worked daily claims with and which companies you’ve deployed with for catastrophe work. We like to know where your expertise lies in insurance adjusting. Please feel free to mention other non-insurance related experiences that you have, but please provide the bulk of the detail regarding experiences you have had related to the insurance adjusting industry.

What are the Requirements for Sample Estimates?

The reason we request a sample estimate from a prospective adjuster is two-fold. First, we want to see that the adjuster has a sound knowledge of the construction techniques necessary to repair a damaged property. And second, we want to see that the adjuster can follow the instructions given and turn in the estimate precisely in the form requested. Feel free to use an estimate that you have previously completed as a sample estimate, please just take the time to replace the insured’s information with fictitious names, numbers, ect.

If you are experienced in using Xactimate, the sample estimate should be completed with Xactimate. (If you cannot use Xactimate, please submit your sample estimate in the software you are most familiar with. The sample should be complete with photos and submitted by email in the form of a .PDF file to roster@advadj.com. The subject line of the email should read, “Sample Estimate”.)

Xactimate estimates should be submitted as a single .PDF file. The estimate should include an “Activity Report”, followed by a “General Loss Report”, followed by the Xactimate Estimate complete with compressed resolution photos, eight-per-page.

If you do not have a sample estimate that you are able to submit, we have created a test estimate that you can download and complete using the free demo version of Xactimate. This test estimate is available logging on and looking under the, “Newsletters and Documents” tab. From there you can view the “Test Estimate” and save it to your computer.

What Should I Expect After Submitting an Application?

After we receive all three parts of your application, your records will be evaluated. Within two weeks we will contact you again. You will either receive an email encouraging you to keep your profile up-to-date in the event that a position becomes available in the future, or you will receive a phone call to arrange a telephone interview. Following the telephone interview your licenses will be verified and the necessary paperwork will be completed to officially add you to our roster.
